It’s hard to imagine what it takes to survive when literally every part of your world has died or collapsed around you.  That’s why I’m amazed by Nyson Ndenda’s story.  His is truly a story of hope replacing despair in a remote village in a forgotten place.

Nyson's father died first, then his mother. Leaving him the eldest of 4 siblings. Their home was a typical mud bricked house with a thatched roof. Though it barely provided shelter from rain and storms, it was all their parents left them. To leave the house and land would mean losing them permanently. When alive, their parents must have modeled perseverance and strength.

Though without parents, this little household worked hard to provide food to eat and earn money to pay for school fees and tuition. Even so, there were days they didn’t eat and times they couldn’t pay for school.

When the Passion Center learned of their plight, they were brought in as a Child Headed Household. Shor...

It was a beautiful event seeing all the smiles and feeling the hope of those

present.  Our first infants and guardians in the Infant Rescue Project (IRP) were there as were Passion Center staff, Group Village Chief Mindando, the proud Community Health Network volunteers, Abusa Saul- the Passion Center Ex. Director and a crowd of friends and villagers.  Abusa Million spoke, shared the gospel and emphasized the hope this ministry brings to many families and villages.

At the end of the event, each Passion infant/guardian in the IRP received their first care pack put together based on the age and need of the baby.  At a minimum, each pack contained formula, Likuni Phala (a food supplement designed specifically to combat malnutrition and boost infant immune systems), soap, Vaseline and some clothes. We are very hopeful for this new ministry and we’re praying for sponsors and partners to join us. Each Passion infant/guardian in the IRP needs a praying sponsor, one who will give towa...

He is a 16 year old boy living in a village called Namsasala village in Zomba. He is currently in Standard 8 (eighth grade) at Mpemba School. He wants to attend school and get good grades in order to eventually attend medical school. Passion Center has come alongside Nixson in hopes of helping him achieve his dreams, however, Nixson is in need of a sponsor. Would you be willing to sponsor him? Your sponsorship goes to Nixson's immediate need for school supplies/fees and meals. In addition, He will be encouraged and shown that the love of God is bigger than any circumstance and learn that he has hope and a future in Christ.  Click donate to sponsor him now!

Some of the team that went to Malawi this summer was able to attend another river Baptism with Jali Community Church. As the church walked to the river with the 35 new believers, we sang songs as we passed through the villages. I marveled at the impact this pastor and church is having though they don’t have electricity or even a vehicle. God is bearing so much fruit through this faithful & focused church. 15 of the 35 new believers were former Muslims and three were Imams. They now care for 60 Passion Kids, two Child Headed Households, 35 local widows. They also host a Mobile Champs ministry for Special Needs children, share the gospel in the surrounding villages, see lots of decisions to follow Jesus and make regular baptism trips to the river! Pastor Million does a wonderful job - he graduated with our 1st PCP class and is mentored by Abusa Chibwana and Abusa Saul. In talking to pastor Million, I found out he is hoping to plant two churches. As we left, I felt the impulse to begin pr...

What an amazing summer of rescue, redemption and restoration! Thank you for all who came, served, supported and prayed. We saw pastors trained & graduating, the sick being cared for, new homes built & dedicated, the joy and message of life shared at soccer matches, and solar power coming to places that will never see electricity. We got to see churches growing, impacting and dreaming of doing more for orphans who’ve seen too much death, disease and abandonment. Those same orphans now know the grace and love of Christ. Many of our team members got to see our first Passion Student finishing Medical School, thousands making decisions of faith and so much more. Here's just one story as an example of what happened this summer.

Chifundo, an infant needing rescue...

Her mother died three days after Chifundo was born, her father had already abandoned the mother 4 months earlier. Hope was fading. Relatives passed her around only being able to care for h...

Violet Gov is our newest Champ. Violet is a special needs child who needs the Passion Center's help. She is extremely malnourished; though age 11, she looks like she's 4 years old. She lays on a mat all day, is very stiff, and much of her body is turned to one side. Help for her is just beginning. With the Passion Center's resources through the Champions Club, she'll have access to training for her and her caretaker so she can slowly start to get better. Most importantly, Violet will be spoken to about the love of God and how much he cares for her. Please pray for her and that she'll learn that God loves and has not forgotten her. Please consider sponsoring Violet.

If you want to sponsor Violet, click here and select 'Passion Champs' > add Violet's name to the Additional Comment.

Thank you for your continued prayers and support.

Donley (left) and Aunley (right) are 7 year old twin brothers. Their parents passed away when they were only 3 years old. They live with their aunt’s family, but providing enough food and paying for school is always a struggle. The boys needed access to education and regular meals in order to break the cycle of poverty in their family. When this situation was relayed to Jali Passion Center, they were welcomed as new Passion Kids, but now they are in need of a Sponsor. Would you consider sponsoring one or both of these boys? Your $40 a month gift gives them access to regular meals and education. Thank you for partnering with us in bringing Jesus and his message of hope to these boys and those like them in need.

We don't always know why God allows us to go through the trials, tribulations and hardships that we go through. But we can trust and believe that His plans are greater than ours. Always. Jeremiah 29:11 says “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.” God knows the thoughts and plans He has for each one of us. And God had thoughts and plans for Lucy Maliro. Lucy is a woman who was first visited by Passion Staff members-Edwin Ng'ambani, Hlekiwe Banda and Jodi Gardner on May 23, 2019. Lucy was brought to Edwin's attention by a CHN volunteer out in her area who had been informed that she needed medical attention. She had a wound on her neck that needed immediate attention. The three staff were going out with the intention of picking up this woman and providing her with transportation to the hospital. Her husband had himself, just returned home from a 2-3 month hospital stay. He was too weak to do anyt...

Ethel is 12 years old and was young when her mother passed. Her father is paralyzed and cannot support her. Ethel currently lives with her grandmother who took her in. Unfortunately, Ethel must work from time to time to help meet hers and her grandmothers' daily needs. With the support of Passion Center, Ethel can now focus on education and not worry about food, school fees, clothes and health care. Ethel wants to be a teacher when she grows up. She needs a praying and giving sponsor to continue this story of rescue, redemption and restoration.

She is part of the 20 orphans, 35 Special Needs children and 8 Child Headed Households we’ve invited into the Passion Center families. We need sponsors for Ethel and many more like her. Would you consider sponsoring Ethel? Your $40 a month commitment helps bring hope to those in need just like herself. Prayerfully consider sponsoring Ethel.
