300 FAMILIES started receiving emergency food packs this week thanks to the overwhelming response of Passion Center supporters! In just the first few days following the Malawian President’s State of Emergency Declaration, enough donations came in to cover 100 families. By the end of a week, that number rose to 300 and counting. Please pray that we can continue to respond to this immediate need in the name of Jesus. As our staff team visited villages, they were struck by how many villagers are suffering. Though our Passion Kids have enough food, it’s sad to see their guardians and neighbors going hungry. Just about everyone in the over 140 villages we serve are ‘subsistence farmers’, and that means that the only food they eat is that which they grow or for which they barter. Now they lack the food to feed their families and don’t have the money to buy what is coming in from other countries. Please consider making a donation to help a family now. The Passion Center Staff in Malawi works directly with those affected- we identify the families, pray with them, as well as do all the purchasing and delivering of food packs.
We’ve also been praying about how we can help our neighboring communities get through to the next harvest season. An answer to those prayers may have just come in!! Late last week, a Passion Center supporter offered to donate enough pre-packaged emergency food packs to fill an entire 40’ container! Wouldn’t that be a mighty answer to prayer? We would need to bag the emergency food packs and raise the shipping costs to get the Container from CA to Zomba, Malawi. Please ask God to provide about $13,000 through His people to ship this container.
As the Malawian government seeks international aid for both the immediate and year-long food shortage, we’re praying that this might be God’s answer for thousands of villagers in our communities. We are asking all our Passion Center family to pray, share and give.
Please pray that we will deliver God’s provision and share the message of Jesus Christ to all who receive help.
Share this need with everyone you know (in person or through social media).
Give/Volunteer: Our goal is $13,000 to get the container to Zomba, and to have volunteers help bag the emergency food packs.
Thank you for your prayers and concern for those suffering and for the Passion Center staff as they respond. May God continue to bless and guide you.
