Thanks to the donations we’ve received so far, we’re now able to send three children with special needs to a private hospital for surgery assessment this month! It was devastating for us to learn that many of the children we saw during our outreach had never been medically treated or were treated so poorly that they never healed properly. By God’s grace and provision, we are hoping that these surgeries will be just the first steps to change all of that. We have prioritized these three children from the many we saw during our Mobile Community Health/Champions Club Outreach:
Praise Makino (5 years old) - barely walks, both of his legs were never treated
Shilia Mitembo (9 years old) - stroke left her without use of her legs or arms
Chisomo Likaka (8 years old) - suffers from hydrocephalus and may have a spinal injury due to a fall
Please pray that these children will be good candidates for surgery and that we will raise all the funds necessary to cover all their related costs. The hospital is about 2 hours away, so our team will pick up each child and a family member and will also cover all costs for the surgery, treatment, multiple visits, and for a family member to stay nearby during this time. What a blessing it has been to see families begin to hope for something better for their children!
Praise, Shilia, and Chisomo are just three of the nine children we feel would benefit from surgery. Would you consider helping us provide more? You can donate on our website here or via postal mail indicating ‘Community Health Network’ with the note ‘Surgeries’.
Thank you again for your prayers and gifts, and may God continue to bless and guide you.
