We are thrilled to share the exciting news that one of our former Passion Kids, Prophet Dauda, has recently received a scholarship to complete his Masters in Literature at Auburn University this fall!
Prophet was enrolled at the Passion Center in 2005 and has aspired to become a writer since he was 16. His journey is one of determination in primary and secondary school, which allowed him to qualify for college and graduate from the University of Livingstonia with his Bachelor's of Education. He is also the author of "Prophet's Tale", an autobiography detailing his childhood, and was named an Outstanding Secondary Teacher in Blantyre, Malawi, in 2019.
"I tell my story today because I was given an opportunity once in my lifetime. From such an opportunity, I have grown a strong muscle to tell my story with a pen and paper."
Prophet's story is one of hope and courage in the face of grief and extreme poverty and is a testament to the faithfulness of God. Through his words, he hopes to encourage those who have little hope.
He shares, "A kid in the village in Africa blindly thinks a life of poverty is a normal life. This kid needs an opportunity to stand on and look beyond to realize that poverty is not a normal life."
"I tell my story today because I was given an opportunity once in my lifetime. From such an opportunity, I have grown a strong muscle to tell my story with a pen and paper."
We are excited for this wonderful opportunity and look forward to how God will continue to use Prophet for His glory.
