Our ministries at the Passion Center have been designed to interact with one another, creating a system of sustainability and a community of support. (It is often our ministry outreaches that end up identifying more children in the community who are orphaned or vulnerable.)
Here is a behind-the-scenes look into what is happening right now for the children, parents, and our staff at the Passion Center.
Let the Children Come
The Passion Center is committed to sharing the good news of Jesus Christ to all ages, including the youngest among us.
Special moments like the one above remind us of the powerful truth in Jesus’ words: “Suffer little children, and forbid them not to come unto me, for of such is the kingdom of heaven” (Matthew 19:14). Jesus was defying the negative attitude of his disciples towards little children, and He concluded “for of such is the kingdom of God.”
In the Mulunguzi ministry’s after-school program, we saw this truth come alive again when Cedrick and William, two brothers new to the program, were accepted into God’s family. They understood and believed that Jesus Christ died for their sins, was buried, and rose again (1 Corinthians 15:3-4). Seeing such young hearts grasp what saving faith is all about is a beautiful thing to witness. We give all glory to God and pray for their continued growth in faith.
At the Passion Center, the children’s knowledge of God is nurtured not just through verbal memorization, but also through written reflections during Bible study sessions. These precious children are growing in their understanding of Scripture as they internalize its truths. It is both beautiful and encouraging to see the “redeeming, restoring, and rescuing” being actively fulfilled in their lives as their knowledge of God grows.
Parenting Reimagined
It is so easy for us to see and appreciate what God is doing right here, right now, through all the various ministries within the Passion Center as they work together to impact lives.
The Parenting as a Ministry initiative is a clear example of this. This ministry mainly focuses on equipping parents and guardians of our kids with godly principles to guide their parenting. This program is currently engaging parents and parent figures in the areas of Mulunguzi, Jali and Namikango—and the results have been exciting.
During a recent session in Jali, two women testified that their approach to parenting has greatly changed.
Mrs. Simon (first photo) testified that she has learned that the word of God and prayer are great tools for parenting.
Mrs. Soko (second photo), testified that before she began undertaking these lessons, she used to respond to irritations from her kids by speaking abusive words.
But now, she glorifies God for gradually transforming her.
A Strong Team
The Passion Center for Children is more than just a workplace for its employees—it’s a spiritual base.
Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings provide an opportunity for all staff to study the bible and pray together. This keeps us connected to God and the possibilities He puts before us every day.
Prayer and the Word are priceless tools as we join God in rescuing, redeeming, and restoring vulnerable kids together with their communities.
Be Part of the Journey
Please join us in praying for these little ones. We pray they will continue walking on the path of faith as they journey through their childhood, teenage years, and into adulthood.
We are committed to walking alongside them—and through your support, you also get to be right there with us.
All our ministry pages have been recently updated to reflect the current, beautiful work happening within all the ministries of the Passion Center. We encourage you to spend some time exploring the photos, videos, and stories these pages hold.
What part of God’s story are you ready to step into?
